Pore Spots Acne Comedone — Which Doctor Should I See?

Pore spots and comedones are common acne types. Blackheads are open comedones where pores are clogged with oil and dead skin, appearing dark. Whiteheads are closed comedones with the same buildup but covered by skin.

Comedones form when hair follicles become clogged with sebum (oil) and dead skin cells. Factors include excess oil production, bacteria, hormonal changes, poor hygiene, and certain medications or cosmetics.

Treat comedones with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide products. Prevent them by cleansing twice daily, exfoliating gently, using non-comedogenic products, avoiding touching your face, and maintaining a healthy diet.
