Skin Rash — Which Doctor Should I See?

Skin rashes can be caused by allergies, infections (bacterial, viral, or fungal), irritants, heat, stress, or underlying medical conditions. Common triggers include new soaps, plants, insect bites, or medications.

Seek medical attention if the rash is severe, spreads rapidly, causes difficulty breathing, covers large areas, is accompanied by fever, or doesn't improve after a few days of home care.

Keep the area clean and dry, use fragrance-free moisturizer, apply cool compresses, wear soft clothing, avoid scratching, and use over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream. Avoid irritants and allergens if possible.
